World-class MRI technology boosts Queensland healthcare

Queensland has welcomed one of the world’s most advanced MRI scanners, now installed at Brisbane’s Herston Imaging Research Facility. The new system delivers faster, more precise imaging, improving patient comfort while enabling earlier disease detection and more accurate monitoring of conditions such as cancer, stroke and dementia.

Backed by a collaborative investment from government, academia and national research partners, the technology strengthens Australia’s medical imaging capabilities and supports faster translation of research into clinical care.
